Big Day for Hughes in 13-7 Rangers Win
The Rockville Rangers beat the Thunder Bay Lighting, 13-7, with major props going to second baseman Seth Hughes. On the day, Hughes was 4 for 6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Rangers. Losses have been rare for the Lighting, who are now 9-3.

Luis Ramirez had a big grand slam home run for the Rangers in the top of the third inning. With Rockville trailing 2-1 and the bases loaded, he sized up a curveball from 20-year old left-handed pitcher Marco Padilla and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Rangers on top, 5-2.

"Feels good to get the job done," Ramirez said after the game.
