The Paradise Island Pirates downed the Normal Nutcrackers, 8-1, at The Nutcracker Suite. Stellar pitching by Yamada Anteau had a lot to do with it. The left-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. Anteau, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. Paradise Island is now 6-4.
Tom de Jong hit a 2-run triple off Ruben Cruz in the top of the sixth, which put the Pirates in front, 3-1. de Jong had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 3.
