Starting pitcher Danny Gifford pitched well enough to help the Vancouver Pioneers beat the Bighorn Bison, 5-4. The Pioneers now own a record of 34-39.

The decisive blow was delivered by Danny Torres in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off two-time All-Star Patrick Greathouse to win the game for Vancouver. The home crowd went nuts.

"Danny was pounding the zone," said Vancouver manager Jesús Morán.
