The Yuma Varmits defeated the Wichita Storm by the score of 6-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder David Monroy. Monroy went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Varmits on the day. Roberto Vasquez recorded the save, his 1st. With the win, Yuma improves its record to 2-6.

With Yuma leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Monroy hit a changeup from Tony Garcia for a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Varmits ahead, 5-0.
