Melendez Delivers Walk-Off Win for Vampires
Despite a great performance by Terra Linda second baseman Brian Cohen, the Santa Clara Vampires defeated the Trojans by the score of 4-3 at River Otters Ballpark. Cohen went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The third-place Vampires now have a win-loss record of 32-32.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Alex Melendez came to bat in the bottom of the 12th. Facing Terra Linda pitcher Nick Neilsen, he hit a first pitch cutter for a run-scoring double. It was a game-changer, putting Santa Clara on top, 4-3.

"Exhilarating win," said Melendez.
