Late Rally by Voodoos Seals 8th Straight Win
|
The Rutland Voodoos beat the Baie-Comeau All Blacks, 4-3 at Swamp Foxes Stadium, in part due to shortstop Ethan Thurston, who nabbed player of the game honors. He was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. This win makes it 8 in a row for Rutland.
This game was not decided until Joe Munroe came to bat in the top of the ninth. With the bases loaded and two out, the Rutland catcher drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Voodoos took the lead, 4-3.
"This was a good win for us," said Thurston. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
