Panthers Fall to .500 After Loss to Tigers
|
Despite a great performance by Derby catcher Marc Foster, the Tioga Central Tigers defeated the Panthers by the score of 4-3 at Managua HS Grounds. Foster was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times. Tioga Central is now 37-25.
It could have been a different outcome for Tioga Central, had it not been for Jim Vlk, the 15-year old first baseman . Vlk contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Tioga Central up, 4-1.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Derby manager Ken Hubert. "But we decided not to take it."
