The Topeka West Chargers stopped the Montreal Cardinals, 10-1, at Breakers Ballpark. The Chargers got a big game from Kevin Cooley, who went 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Topeka West reliever Baio Zhang picked up the win, bumping his record to 5-0. Paul Erickson was collared with the loss. The losses continue to mount for Montreal, which has now dropped 7 in a row.

With Topeka West leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Cooley hit a cutter from Paul Erickson for a 3-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Chargers ahead, 5-0.

"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Cooley.
