Rivas goes 3-for-5 in Rangers Win
Rockville shortstop Alfonso Rivas made his presence felt in the 12-5 Rangers triumph over the Manchester Mooses. Rivas went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Alex Martinez picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Kasey Thompson suffered the loss. With the win, Rockville improves its record to 4-1.

The Mooses had been locked in a 4-4 tie with the Rangers going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 19-year old catcher Tony Amial came to the plate. Amial hit a 3-run home run on a 2-0 fastball from Manchester hurler Kasey Thompson. It was Amial's 1st home run of the year.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Rockville manager Bill Gallagher.
