Rangers Axe Fighting Iguanas, 6-2
|
The Rockville Rangers got a stellar performance from pitcher Ray Schmitt, who handcuffed the Boca Raton offense en route to a win, 6-2, at Brewbaker Memorial Stadium. Rockville sits at 2-2 in the early going.
The Rangers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Alfonso Casiano. For the game, Casiano was 1-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Rockville a 2-0 lead.
"I'm a big believer in luck," said Casiano. "And the harder we work, the more we have of it."
