Akiyoshi Takano was locked in. The left-hander led the Carrollton Rangers to a 5-1 win against the Brooklyn Cyclones at Rangers Field. The loss puts Brooklyn at 3-1.

The Rangers got a big at-bat from right fielder Adam Gibson. For the game, Gibson was 1-4 with a triple. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Carrollton a 1-0 lead.

"Akiyoshi is a tough competitor," said Carrollton manager Hung-chang Chao.
