Boca Raton Loss Tarnishes Fine Game by Sevilla
Willie Sevilla did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas from being beaten, 14-9, to the Manchester Mooses at Scripps Field. Sevilla was 3-4 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 7. Jorge Garcia, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. With the loss, Boca Raton drops to 0-3.

Manchester used the clutch hitting of Juan Mercado to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Mooses the lead, 9-8. For the game, Mercado had 2 singles and 1 double in 6 at-bats.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Mercado said. "We did a good job of that today."
