Trojans Prevail, 7-5, Over Derby
|
Derby third baseman Pete Spencer had a good game, even if his team did not. The Panthers dropped a 7-5 decision to Terra Linda at Managua HS Grounds. Spencer was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. Kyle Hruska, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 4 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 2-4. Earning his 11th save for Terra Linda was Miguel Piedra.
Josh Anderson had a productive at-bat for the Trojans with one out in the top of the first. With the bases loaded, the center fielder grounded out, driving in 1 run. The at-bat was important in the Terra Linda win.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Anderson told the Terra Linda Daily News.
The Trojans now have a mark of 23-36.
