Indians Score Late, Stun All Blacks, 6-4
|
The Jefferson Indians took Baie-Comeau pitcher Jose Lazo's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Ballpark of Monterrey HS. The final score had Jefferson getting past the All Blacks, 6-4. Lazo went 6 innings and allowed 1 earned run, striking out 7. Jefferson reliever Max Weyand picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Bill McIlmoyle shouldered the loss. Jefferson has now won 4 games in a row.
Jefferson took a 5-4 lead on Billy Barr's 63rd hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Barr hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Baie-Comeau pitcher Bill McIlmoyle visibly frustrated.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Barr told the Jefferson Gazette.
