Mustangs Stay Hot, Beat Tigers
|
The Downsview Mustangs topped the Tioga Central Tigers, 3-1, with youngster Tyrese Thacker playing a key role. Thacker went 2-2 with a home run, a triple, and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Mustangs in the win. The first-place Mustangs have won 5 straight.
Downsview grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Thacker, who leads the PRLL in stolen bases with 11, hit a 2-run home run. His 12th home run of the season put the Mustangs out in front, 3-1.
"I like our mindset right now," said Downsview manager Shi-xian Liu.
