Lions Prevail, 8-6, Over Montreal
|
Lerna shortstop Alan Bonacci was instrumental in his team's 8-6 win over the Montreal Cardinals. Bonacci went 3-4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Lions. Chris Hitchcock earned the save for Lerna, his 15th of the year. Lerna is third in the Pete Rose Little League Alex Rodriguez Division with a record of 27-30.
Bonacci contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Lerna in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-0, Bonacci took a fastball from Jason Allen and stroked the double to center. His 10th double of the season allowed the Lions to leap in front, 3-2.
"It feels good to get this one," Bonacci told the Lerna Bulletin.
