Behind a solid performance from right fielder Noah Baker, the Santa Clara Vampires defeated the Canby Lancers, 7-4. Baker was 2-5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Vampires. Santa Clara reliever Bobby McDonald got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Danny Striker was tagged with the loss. Marty Allred was credited with the save for Santa Clara, his 9th of the season.

Baker had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 3rd in the top of the second inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Vampires went on to win.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Baker, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
