Stafford Helps Mustangs Run Win Streak to 3
A 4-RBI performance from the 16-year old left fielder Shane Stafford helped the San Marin Mustangs beat the Baie-Comeau All Blacks, 14-9. Elwood Kenner was the winner. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 1 run on 7 hits, with no walks and 3 strikeouts. Steve Berard got credit for the save for San Marin. It was his 2nd of the year.

With San Marin leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Stafford came up to bat against Baie-Comeau pitcher Jay Dutton. Stafford hit a fastball to right for a bases-clearing double. His 9th double of the season put the Mustangs on top, 5-1.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Stafford.

The 4th-place Mustangs improved to 26-30.
