Panthers Knock Off Voodoos at Ballpark of Morelia HS
|
The Pitman High Panthers picked up a win at Ballpark of Morelia HS, knocking off the Rutland Voodoos, 4-2. Starting pitcher Rodolfo Martinez played a key role in the triumph. Martinez, the winner, moves to 3-1. He threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. After today's action, Pitman High sits at 23-31, while Rutland falls to 32-22.
Pitman High used the timely hitting of Adam Bombace to capture the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Panthers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Pitman High manager Juan Lopez. "It's usually not just one thing."
