Lions Suffer 6-1 Setback
|
The Downsview Mustangs got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher Devin Gramlich, but it was good enough for the club to take a 6-1 decision over the Lerna Lions. Gramlich went 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 3-3. Downsview is now 26-24, Lerna 23-27.
Kyle Boyette had a big 2-run double for the Mustangs in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Downsview leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Dan Cloyd and stroked the double to right. It was his 17th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mustangs ahead, 4-0.
"Glad to get this win," said Boyette. "But we need to keep playing at a high level."
