Voodoos Topple Mustangs, 12-8, as Yarema Shines
The Rutland Voodoos defeated the San Marin Mustangs, 12-8. Center Fielder Mitch Yarema deserved a large share of the credit. Yarema was 4-6 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 for the Voodoos. Mike Korey earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 4-1. Rutland goes to 32-15. The win puts them 6 games up in their division.

Joe Maston had a big 2-run double for the Voodoos in the bottom of the first inning. With Rutland leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 15-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Krone and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Voodoos ahead, 3-0.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Maston said.
