Sasquatch Score Late to Nip Texans, 2-1
|
The Sasquatch faced a stiff challenge from Dallas pitcher Victor Lara, but persevered to claim a win at Sasquatch Field at Brewbaker Family Memorial Stadium. The final score was 2-1. Lara went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Reliever Jeff Lombardi picked up the win. His record improves to 1-2. Chris Nugent, who is tied for 9th in the RCL in saves with 14, took the loss. Seattle occupies 4th place in the Thurman Munson League West Division at 40-44.
The Sasquatch got a clutch hit from third baseman Raul Navarro. In the bottom of the 12th, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Sasquatch.
"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Sasquatch manager Alim bin Umar.
