The Riverside Poly bested the Topeka West Chargers by a score of 4-2, with first baseman Chris Van der Hyde getting the main credit. On the day, Van der Hyde was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times for the Poly. Danny Bell picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Koen van Uden was tagged with the loss. At 23-22, the Poly are currently 4th in the Hank Aaron Little League Bob Gibson Division.
Tony Johnson's at-bat in the top of the fifth inning was a big one for Riverside. Coming to bat with two out, the bases loaded and Riverside trailing 2-0, the second baseman reached on an error by the right fielder, driving in 2 runs.
