The bad news for the Dallas Texans: an opening day loss, 8-3, to the Chicago Eclipse at Metroplex Park. The good news: it was just game one in a long season. No one played better than Jason Bennett. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Chris Titus, who finished 3rd in the TML in ERA with 4.08 last year, was the winner. He's now 1-0. The loser was Victor Lara.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Mike Winn? The Chicago first baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Eclipse on top, 4-0. For the game, Winn had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"We were able to put some good swings on some pitches," Bennett told the Chicago Chronicle.
