Gomez 5-for-6 for Cougars Sunday, September 28th , 2064 It was a sensational day at the plate for Manny Gomez as he led the charge to a nifty 15-4 win over the Stars. The Victoria center fielder was pure misery for the Arlington pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Gomez put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Sergio Castaneda, manager for the Stars, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Manny Gomez singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Edwin Diaz in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Tony Toledo in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
