Ft. Worth-San Carlos Fight Results in Suspensions

After an intense confrontation, both the Werewolves Ruben Rivera and the Pipers Andy Segura were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Ft. Worth-San Carlos game. Ruben Rivera will miss 4 games, while Andy Segura was suspended for 8 games.
"Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Ruben Rivera commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play."
In 111 games this season, Rivera has compiled a .341 batting average with 134 hits and 17 home runs. He has also scored 85 times and knocked in 72 runs.
Segura has taken the mound for 30 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 0-4 record with a 6.96 ERA. The San Carlos reliever has limited opposing batters to a .254 batting average.
