Waugh Stretches Hit String to 59

Ben Waugh has been on a tear for several weeks, and his hitting streak just keeps getting longer. The 22-year-old Toronto Blue Jays left fielder extended his streak to 59 games, going 3-for-4 as Toronto got the best of the San Carlos Pipers at Pipers Grove, 11-0.
"Ben has been playing real well lately and we're proud of him," Blue Jays manager Bryan Fulcher said. Ben Waugh flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Frank Diaz in the 3rd, singled in the 4th and hit a two-run single in the 6th.
For the season, Waugh is currently batting .477 with 48 home runs and 202 RBIs. In 122 games he has reached base at a .587 rate and scored 180 runs to date.
