Reyes Tags Red Wings for 5 Hits
Wednesday, August 13th , 2064
Speaking with reporters after a dominating hitting performance, Ozzie Reyes said his club's tilt with the Estación Juanita Red Wings "felt almost like batting practice." The 22-year-old right fielder went a remarkable 5-for-6 at the plate.
"I saw the ball well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted," he recalled later.
However, his sensational day wasn't enough for the Arlington Stars, who were topped by the Red Wings, 17-12.
"It's a good lesson for him, I guess," Stars manager Sergio Castaneda said. "Sometimes Ozzie is going to lose. But I would rather him go 5-for-6 and lose than go 0-for-6 and lose."
Ozzie Reyes hit a three-run triple in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.
Thus far this year, Reyes has hit .387 with 8 home runs and 37 RBIs.
