Year Over for Hitmen Recio Sunday, September 23rd , 2063 Juan Recio is doubtful to make the playoffs this year, according to sources within the Calgary organization. Although the injury was initially thought to be not serious, tests have revealed the player will be out up to 8-9 months with a ruptured disc. The 22-year-old starting pitcher suffered the injury throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Bowling Green Racers. To date, Recio has a 4-4 mark in 15 starts with a 7.19 ERA. He has given up 73 hits in 71.1 innings, struck out 44 and issued 47 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .266 batting average against him. |
