Panthers Win in Glorious Fashion
|
The Pitman High Panthers did just enough to sneak past the Riverside Poly, 7-6, at Batfish Ballpark. Pitman High pitcher Sean Ladd earned player of the game honors. The win was credited to Nick Sullivan in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Ed Helmer took the loss. The 4th-place Panthers raised their record to 13-15.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Pitman High center fielder Danny Shoemaker, facing Sam Farro, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Panthers the 7-6 win.
"It was terrific getting this win," Shoemaker said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
