Dragons Bang Out 6-4 Win Versus Tokyo Yakult
Chunichi and Tokyo Yakult duked it out at Rebels Ballpark and the Dragons came out victorious.

Willie Castaneda had a good game, but he could not keep the Tokyo Yakult Swallows from falling, 6-4, to the Chunichi Dragons at Rebels Ballpark. The Tokyo Yakult center fielder was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs in the loss. Kyung-un Ford was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 9 hits, with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts. Takayuri Yokoi converted his 14th save in 14 tries.

The Dragons beat the Swallows in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out home run Matsu Ishimaru produced in the top of the sixth. Batting against Tokyo Yakult pitcher Nijiya Ishikawa, Ishimaru gave his team a 4-3 lead when he hit a solo home run.

"We're in the driver's seat," said Ishimaru. "I like our chances."

Chunichi leads the Central Division by 3½ games.
