It was a good time at Ballpark of Yamagata College, where fans came to watch the Hanshin Tigers and Yomiuri Giants get after it.
Yomiuri starter Keiji Sato had a strong outing against the Hanshin Tigers at Ballpark of Yamagata College. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 7-4 win. Sato got the win, improving to 4-2. He allowed 2 hits and walked 2 over 5 innings. Sato allowed no earned runs.
The Giants got a big at-bat from second baseman Shoya Fukutomi. For the game, Fukutomi went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Yomiuri a 4-0 lead.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Sato said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
With the win, Yomiuri goes to 27-30, while the Tigers fall to 33-24.
