Thoroughbreds Suffer 12-6 Road Loss
Hoosiers center fielder Danny Benavides left his mark on his team's 12-6 win over the Aiken Thoroughbreds. Benavides, who leads the TLA in stolen bases with 46, was 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for Bloomington in the contest. Omar Orozco went 5.1 innings for Bloomington to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs. He scattered 3 hits, while walking 5 and striking out 5. His record improves to 10-6. Even with the win, the Hoosiers have a dismal 53-107 record.

With Bloomington trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the second, Benavides hit a slider from Ken Liberto for a grand slam home run. It was his 23rd home run of the season and put the Hoosiers ahead, 5-3.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Benavides, "one at-bat at a time."
