Ruiz Steals Spotlight, But Last Laugh Belongs to Santa Clara
The Santa Clara Vampyres overcame a good performance by Tulsa second baseman Omar Ruiz to knock off Tulsa, 12-8, at Santa Clara Stadium. Ruiz went 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 and driving in 5. Armando Tavares earned the win for Santa Clara. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 8. With the win, he raised his record to 17-8. Santa Clara is now 92-68, Tulsa 83-77.
