The Surrey Thunderbirds and Saint John Alpines left the fans buzzing.
Randy Nash made an impact in the 8-4 Saint John win over Surrey. Nash was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win boosted Saint John to 89-71.
With Saint John leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth, Nash hit a run-scoring single off Surrey hurler Bobby Isbell. It was the 58th hit of the season for Nash and put his team ahead, 4-2.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Saint John manager Clarence Byrd.
