Royal Oak Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction
|
The Victoria Cougars beat the Royal Oak Leprechauns by a score of 6-3. Victoria right fielder Billy Milne deserved the lion's share of the credit. Milne was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Cougars. Zhu-lan Yep, the winner, improved to 2-1. He held Royal Oak to 3 runs on 5 hits over 5 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. Victoria has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
Victoria used a timely hit from Manny Gomez to get the win. The center fielder delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cougars on top, 6-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We're all smiles after that win," Milne told the Victoria Herald.
