Swallows Win in Extras
The Tokyo Yakult Swallows beat the Hanshin Tigers, 11-6, at Ballpark of Otofuke College. The Swallows got a fine performance from third baseman Ki-seop Char, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Lee Lee in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Hideyuki Okazaki took the loss. With the victory, the Swallows record now stands at 30-24.

It could have been a different outcome for Tokyo Yakult, had it not been for Ling-lai Zhu, the 23-year old first baseman . Zhu contributed a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the tenth inning to put Tokyo Yakult up, 7-6.
