Leprechauns Lose, 8-2, to Victoria
|
The Victoria Cougars topped the Royal Oak Leprechauns, 8-2, in RCL LA action at Royal Oak Field. The standout performance belonged to Victoria pitcher and Matautu, Wallis & Futuna, native Etana Turagabea. Turagabea got the win, improving to 6-1. He gave up 2 hits and walked 2 over 5 innings. He allowed no runs. With the win, the Cougars improved to 96-63.
Victoria catcher Juan Encarnacion contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 7th hit of the season and put the Cougars ahead, 5-2.
"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Encarnacion. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
