Victory Pushes Tigers Record to 27-20
The Hanshin Tigers topped the Hiroshima Toyo Carp by the score of 12-9, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Shigeji Tsunoda. Tsunoda was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Tigers on the day. Yukinobu Ono earned the save for Hanshin, his 11th of the year. Hanshin, now 27-20, holds second place in the Central Division.

Tsunoda had no bigger at-bat than in the top of the second when the 19-year old right fielder hit a 2-run home run. The home run gave Hanshin the lead, 3-0. It was his 2nd home run of the season.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Tsunoda, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
