The Aiken Thoroughbreds picked up a win at Steelers Park, dropping the Rancho Cucamonga, 5-3. Ken Liberto was the difference-maker. Liberto, now 2-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 4, and allowing 3 runs. Aiken has an impressive 111-44 record.
It could have been a different outcome for Aiken, had it not been for Tyler Walker, the 21-year old third baseman . Walker contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth inning to put Aiken up, 3-0.
"We came in and did what we needed to do," said Aiken manager David Flecha.
