Yomiuri starter Makato Kato put a stranglehold on the Tokyo Yakult offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Giants to a 3-1 win. Yomiuri is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 2nd in 5 games.

The Giants grabbed the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out, Caleb Gant hit a 2-run home run off Prakoso Ernalia, putting Yomiuri in front, 3-0. For Gant, it was his 2nd home run of the season.

"I really like what we did out there today," Gant said after the game.
