Luther Dominant in Tokyo Yakult Win
|
The Tokyo Yakult Swallows picked up a win at Cuckoos Stadium, knocking off the Yokohama Bay Stars, 4-1. Starting pitcher Bobby Luther, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Lee Lee earned the save for Tokyo Yakult, his 2nd of the year. The Swallows keep rolling, raising their record to 2-0.
Luther, who dominated for Tokyo Yakult, earned the victory to move to 1-0. He was in control the whole game, scattering 4 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 9. Yokohama batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Luther said.
