Thoroughbreds Rally to Tally 11-8 Win
The Aiken Thoroughbreds dumped the Mojave Rattlers, 11-8, in large part due to catcher Ryan Roy. On the day, Roy went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs for the Thoroughbreds. The win was credited to 22-year old right-handed pitcher Hideto Miyamoto in relief. His record improves to 8-1. Jeremy Laiche took the loss. Aaron Fiske earned the save for Aiken, his 33rd.

Aiken used a timely hit from Bill Hernandez to get the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Thoroughbreds ahead, 9-7. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"That's a solid team effort right there," said Roy. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."

Aiken is sailing along at 103-41.
