Surrey wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Jack Reiss, falling to the Victoria Cougars, 6-3. Reiss threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Bobby Kolar, now 6-4, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. Joe Pierce earned his 37th save, after closing out the game.

Aleixos Gouveia came through with a big-time hit for Victoria. The third baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"I think we all put in a good day's work," said Gouveia.

With the win, the Cougars sit at 82-60.
