|
Despite a great performance by River Falls catcher Javy Baltazar, the Media Luna Marlins defeated the Falcons by the score of 8-7 at LoanDepot Park. Baltazar went 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Emmanuel Toro picked up the win in relief for Media Luna, while Cesar Arana took the loss. Picking up the save was Jorge Alvarez. He's now 6 for 10 in save chances.
Rafael Guevara had a big grand slam home run for the Marlins in the bottom of the first inning. With Media Luna leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Edwin Barragan and swatted a home run to right. It was his 15th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Marlins ahead, 7-0.
"We didn't play well enough to win," River Falls skipper Jian-guo Yang said.
The loss makes River Falls 82-58.
