Victory Over Maulers Takes Surrey to 84-54
The Surrey Thunderbirds topped the Martinsburg Maulers, 8-4, in RCL LA action at Maulers Park. The standout performance belonged to Surrey pitcher and San Juan, Puerto Rico, native Manny Ortega. At 84-54, the Thunderbirds claim second place in the RCL LA West Division.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Yasugi Oshita? The Surrey catcher had a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Thunderbirds on top, 3-0. For the game, Oshita had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Ortega.
