Golden Eagles Lose, 7-3, at Field of the Chariots
|
The Saitama Seibu Lions defeated the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles, 7-3, at Field of the Chariots today. Leading the charge for Saitama Seibu was second baseman Bill Erickson. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Hiromi Kawakami, the winner, improved to 2-1. He held the Golden Eagles to 3 earned runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 3. Saitama Seibu has now won 3 straight, while the Golden Eagles have lost 4 in a row.
In the bottom of the third, Zion Baucum hit a 2-run home run for Saitama Seibu. The 1st home run of the season for the Saitama Seibu right fielder put the Lions on top, 5-3.
