Loss Spoils Fine Performance by Padilla
The San Carlos Pipers spoiled a good performance by Bloomington left fielder Tony Padilla, bumping off Bloomington, 10-6, at Hoosiers Stadium. Padilla went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Pipers now have a record of 35-102.

Jim Wise came through with a big-time hit for San Carlos. The catcher smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 10-6. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Nice to get this one," said Wise. "We've been scuffling."
