Cucamonga shortstop Josh McKay put his stamp on his team's 8-6 win over the Aiken Thoroughbreds. McKay went 1 for 3 with a triple and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for Rancho in the contest. The winning pitcher was Randy Savage. He's now 3-13. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 5 runs on 4 hits for the Cucamonga. Seth Feltner closed it out for Rancho, earning his 8th save.

Rancho used a clutch at-bat from Melvin San Miguel to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Cucamonga ahead, 8-4. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

Rancho manager Tony Vargas was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.

The 5th-place Cucamonga now have a win-loss record of 39-97.
