|
Saint John designated hitter Jose Castillo played a vital role in his team's 10-7 conquest of Royal Oak. He went 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Saint John. The Alpines raised their record to 84-52.
With Saint John leading 3-2 in the top of the fourth, Castillo hit a run-scoring single off Royal Oak hurler Luis Baca. It was the 25th hit of the season for Castillo and put his team ahead, 4-2.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Clarence Byrd.
