Crawfish Speller Has 18 Ks
|
Led by an outstanding performance from starter Xavier Speller, the Victory Lakes Crawfish topped the Bloomington Hoosiers by a score of 2-0 at Crawfish Grounds. The 22-year-old Speller brought his top game to the mound, striking out 18 batters while allowing 3 hits and giving up 6 walks.
"He made a lot of good pitches out there," Hoosiers manager Matthew Buchanan said. "He made some of our guys look bad. We didn't help matters, but we really have to give him credit -- he didn't make many mistakes."
This year, Speller has 10 wins and 6 losses and a 2.99 ERA.
